Milwaukee Area Technical College was my first school project. The designer called me about a campus refresh that included three long hallways in need of strong visual interest. My response? Picture an old-timey radio announcer saying “This sounds like a job for Captain Mural!” and you’ve pretty much got it.

The school wanted to celebrate the city using landmarks from near the campus. The designer needed imagery that fit the project palette, and wanted something more creative than journalistic shots, especially since one of hallways bordered the photography department. The resulting murals checked all the boxes — the designer’s, the client’s, and mine.
