mural concepting

At the start of a large mural project I make a ton of practice studies—my version of sketches. Most of the time I don’t show them to anyone, so I can experiment without looking dumb. But here are some of the studies for this project, plus a few early proposals. Turns out it’s kind of fun to share them, even the dumb ones.

Also fun: working with professionals at the top of their game. Mary, the facilities manager, and Jen, the interior architect, were enthusiastic partners who made the murals better than I ever could have on my own.
