This family-owned auto dealership in western North Dakota turned one hundred in 2023. The founding family commissioned a series of murals to be unveiled at their centennial celebration.

 

I shot wheat farms and oil rigs, wild horses and bison, buildings and badlands, and combined them with historical imagery from the company archives to honor the deep connection Sax shares with the landscape and clientele it serves. The artwork’s collective title: Horsepower.

The centennial party was held in the teeth of a northern plains snowstorm. And I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
